Every year during the NWGA national congress, the top 5 shearing sheds in respective regions of the Eastern Cape, gets rewarded for their outstanding efforts and achievement in the development of their woolled sheep project for increased wool income. The criteria is based on the total bales of wool produced for the season, the number of bin bales, average micron, clean yield and price received.
Region 21 Woolgrowers Association Springgroove No. 2 in the Ntabethemba district was the regional winner and they planned a gathering in conjunction with Zoetis and animal health technicians to administer and dose all the animals of the shearing shed. More than 3 978 sheep including lambs were drenched with Cydectin Oral.
Zoetis animal health company sponsored thirty five 5L Cydectin Oral, which were distributed between the 5 regional winners. The communal wool producers of Springgroove was ecstatic that their complete flock of animals were protected against all major internal parasites and thanked Zoetis for the intentional and effective prize.
