A new level of comfort and control: John Deere 6M Series Cab tractors

This post is also available in: Afrikaans

John Deere 6M series tractors were launched in 2014 for productive, simplistic, straightforward, no-nonsense operation for the farmer whose office is in the field.

No matter what your farming branch is, John Deere has a 6M tractor that will perfectly suit your need, whether it may be dairy and livestock, contractor work, grain or specialty crop production. There is a 6M model configuration from the most basic to the highest technology level to suit your application needs.

What is important for your operation?
Enhanced profit margins, low maintenance cost, versatility, ease of use and comfort during a long workday? The 6M can be what you need it to be and is the most customisable tractor offered by John Deere.

For 2020 John Deere made the already comfortable cab operator station even more user friendly. The external changes to the cab operator stations for the 6M Series tractors are subtle yet functional, and the updated layout inside the cab provides a premium touch and feel for even more convenience.

When much work must be done in a short time, make the most of your season by getting into the newly re-designed 6M cab. Being productive requires comfort and the 6M workspace is all about intuitive and straightforward tractor operation.

There are various comfort and performance level packages to choose from. Basic, Select, Select Plus and Premium editions suit every need with the option of a cab with or without mechanical cab suspension to give you a smooth ride.

For loader work, your performance is greatly improved with visibility through an optional panoramic roof window. Side and rear glass panels are improved, and the addition of swivel seat controls improve visibility and take the guesswork out of loader and earthmoving work.

The enhanced visibility does not stop with the enhanced cab glass. There are also two additional light packages to choose from for night work. Top of the range optional LED lights feature a 360-degree illumination pattern for ultimate view from the cab when working in low light conditions.
Most noticeable inside is the digital corner post display replacing the conventional instrument panel. The new digital display is mounted at eye level on the right-hand cab post to display critical engine information at a glance.

The new control console layout has easy to reach control levers and switches for operating the tractor with the utmost of ease while baling, mowing, planting and seeding.

The updated 6M tractors also include AutoTrac™ ready and allow for the inclusion of the Gen 4 4240 or 4640 universal displays, StarFire™ 6000 satellite receiver for optimising crop production where guidance is required for precision farming applications and seasonal repetitive tasks, thereby increasing field productivity.

The new 6M is now also equipped with JDLinkTM, which is John Deere’s telematics system, connecting the machine in the field with the office and mobile devices.

The technology is based on a modular telematics gateway (MTG) controller that collects and transmits machine data via cellular network or selective data points in near real-time. This solution enables customers to keep track of their fleets, monitor work progress, manage logistics, access important machine information, analyse and optimise machine performance, receive alert SMS or e-mail messages, perform remote operator support and automate data exchange.

Information can be accessed through either the Operations Centre on MyJohnDeere.com or levering the JDLink App and mobile devices in general. JDLinkTM has two subscription levels namely JDL AccessTM and JDLink ConnectTM.

JDLink AccessTM provides tractor monitoring of location and work in progress, and remotely view and compare machine settings, performance, and other important information such as fuel tank level, consumption, idle time, AutoTrac™ assisted steering system utilisation. This improves overall performance and operational efficiency. The JDLink ConnectTM subscription includes Remote Display Access (RDA), Wireless Data Transfer (WDT), and Connected Support with Expert Alerts.

John Deere RDA enables farm managers, dealers and technical support, and even ISOBUS implement manufacturers, to remotely assist operators with machine setup, optimising machine performance and troubleshooting – like being virtually in the cab seeing what is on the display and helping.

John Deere WDT alleviates time-consuming and inconvenient manual data transfer actions via USB sticks, and enables seamless remote exchange of important setup and field documentation data to My Operations.

John Deere Expert Alert uses Deere Telematics technology to enable dealer technicians to perform pro-active service and repair work, even before the farmer becomes aware of problems that may possibly lead to unnecessary downtime.

These updated 6M tractors are available in six models, namely the 6110M (81 kW), 6125M (92 kW), 6140M (103 kW), 6155M (114 kW), 6175M (129 kW) and 6195M (143 kW). If you are looking for performance and versatile operating efficiently, the new updated John Deere 6M Cab is the tractor for you.
